Remember the Alamo

On Easter Sunday we went to the Alamo while Carmen and John went to church and got ready for company.  The battle at the Alamo is what it is most famous for, where many people died, including the American folk hero Davy Crockett.  However, the Alamo is actually part of the Spanish Missions that dot the entire area of San Antonio.  The interior is a shrine now to the men who died there.  The reason people say “Remember the Alamo” is because the Americans lost the battle, and the men that were captured were put to death by the Mexicans.  Later, we regained it, and got TX!

If you can read this letter written from the Alamo you can see the fear these men faced.
