Every year we come together and share of ourselves. There is a lot of laughs generated by these gatherings, so I like to take a moment to record the quotes of Christmas. This year, I believe Malena was the record holder for funny things to say, as it is always funny to hear how kids can justify things in their own minds. Here are some highlights:
Malena: Talking about Wii fit to Uncle Jon: “Don’t feel bad Uncle Jon, the wii told me I was 18.” this being said after Uncle Jon (30) was told he had the body of a 38 yr old.
On Christmas morning Malena mistakes the reindeer snack…”Santa left vegetables?”
Malena explaining to Cade why Robbie brought me so many antlers “Uncle Robbie is poor, so he has to shoot deer to eat.”
Cade: Talking about Spencer using the wii fit to meditate: “Uncle Jon, shhhh he is talking to Jesus.”
Spencer: Singing Silent Night: “Silent Night, Holy Night, All is lost…” After reading “An Orange for Frankie” he exclaimed in horror…”HE DIED??” Later that evening Audrey and Spencer dedicate “This one goes out to Frankie…” on AI wii
Granddaddy looking at Uncle Jon’s red shoes: “I believe you had to go WAY downtown to get those….”
Grandma at the xmas feast: “I don’t believe I have ever seen Jon eat so much.”
Gramps telling the kids they can’t open a present on xmas eve until they recite a bible verse… Audrey: “Jesus wept.” Spencer: “Jesus left? Left where?” Malena: “I don’t know a bible verse...can I just say Hi?”

Recession gifts. Audrey and Malena’s piano playlist Reshape the cheese ball again Caden likes shrimp? Harbour eats half the gingerbread sleigh one night, the other half the next, and nibbles on the train too. An Orange for Frankie— Uncle Jon teaches Spencer how to skateboard...until he breaks the board in half… December the 26th, Wii American Idol challenge until the wii hours, kids, me, matt and uncle jon

Without a doubt the wii and the giant tv in our living room was a hit beyond compare. It continues to provide hours of entertainment for us all, and will do so into the new year! |
