The Twilight Zone

Last night Audrey and I went to our first midnight movie.  We had so much fun, I am sure it won’t be our last.  We bought tickets weeks ago, and went super early expecting to stand in long lines.  They had Twilight playing in four theatres.  They were all pretty much full.  We had tickets for theatre 10, and walked right in about two hours before show time.   I had warned her about the teenaged girls, the rude talk, etc...there was none of that.  In fact there were many ladies our age, mine and the other HS mom’s I coerced into joining us that is.  There were, as you’d expect lots of teen agers.  In our theatre, they were out having fun, hollering out how much time to movie start, cheering as we’d inch closer to show time.  It was really a lot of fun!!

At first it was just Audrey and I.  We walked into the theatre and found awesome seats in front of the bar, so nobody was in front of us.  We were really happy.  How do you like her ‘Alice’ hair?

A short time later Caroline joined up with us.  Her mom was the one I coerced into coming with me to the movie.  It was only fair, since Caroline was the one to originally turn Audrey on to Twilight.

Then, after a little while, Rane and his mom showed up and switched tickets to get into our theatre~!  It was a regular homeschool event!!  The kids had a really great time hanging out and talking before the show.  Fun was had by all!

Now about the movie...This is MY opinion...I will get Audrey’s after she wakes up.  Which will be soon, because we have to go to the planetarium today...ya, I know.

As far as following the book, the movie did that pretty well.  They jumped from big event to big event pretty quickly, but, overall followed the patterns and theme of the book.  I actually wrote a lot about my thoughts on the movie, but decided to just go with a ‘worth the trip’ type of rating.  Not sure it is worth all the hype, still not sure if I would have cast RP as Edward, but worth a look.  For our family it was all about being at that midnight show.
