Sunday Funday Downtown

Sunday we devoted to having fun downtown.  We started off at City Market petting horses and listening to live music.  Caden finally got his pirate gun!

Lunch was at a classic Savannah establishment—Vinnie Van GoGo’s...a pizza joint with the ‘best’ pizza ever, according to Audrey—Sorry Ginos.  While we were listening to the band waiting for our table a couple told us about a schooner we could tour for free.  After lunch we went to see the Warhol exhibit at the SCAD museum, which the kids didn’t quite ‘get’ (sorry Uncle Jon) but they had fun with the interactive part—about 30 Mylar pillows blowing around the room.  After that, we headed for the Peacemaker.  There was a lady on board doing pottery.  That was pretty cool to see.

We walked along River St and went into all the shops, ate peanuts, went to the candy shops until the sun set.  Then we decided to head to Tubby’s to get some snacks for dinner.

Our evening ended with the kids playing in the sand box for a few hours while I became obsessed with taking low light long exposure photos.  It was a lot of fun downtown, and not too crowded like it can be in the summer.  The temperature was perfect, there was always somebody singing, or making something for you on the street.  It is a good time all around!
