Smooth, like butta'Text Box: The fact is, sometimes, my kids make me nuts. I try to give them lots of learning opportunities, yet, somehow, someway...someone...will come to me during the day and say “I’m SOOOOO bored.” This day, Cade was the perpetrator. So, it just so happened I was looking at some quick science experiments online, and found this one…”Make butter out of heavy cream.” Of course I knew this could be done. I know that if you are ‘whipping’ cream and walk away...like I have done on occasion, you end up with ‘butter’...but, I did not know you could entertain a 6 year old by pouring cream into a container, let him shake it for a half hour and you would get butter. This was a great way to get rid of some of the heavy cream I had around the house from Thanksgiving! Text Box: It was a great way to get the wiggles out, and he liked seeing the properties of the cream change from liquid...to solid. Turned out to be a fun experiment for him—and tasty! Even Papa could not believe how well it worked (or how tasty it was!)
