Text Box: Skiing 102
With your Mother who doesn't ski

Yesterday, my man totally bailed on me and left me holding 4 ski passes...and Caden.  I have been hiding at home with Cade as he took the other 3 to ski lessons at Massunutten.  BUT, yesterday he was on a trip, so I was left to my own devices.  I spent the whole day like this (left).  No...I don’t have ski’s on...I am not an idiot.  Then, after several hours in my storm trooper boots, I realized I could actually wear my other boots, and actually WALK around.  Meanwhile...I got Cade skis.

All of the other siblings gathered about to give Cade pointers, but he would have nothing of it.  He took to the ‘bunny slope’ and rode up the “magic carpet” with ease.  He maneuvered about so well, many people came up to me…”how old is he?”  and “how long has he been skiing?”  “He’s five and he has been skiing about 45 minutes.”  He could go up and down, fall, get up, turn, stop, steer all on his own.  I was no help.  You should also notice Audrey in short sleeves.  When we go there, it was 55 on top of the mountain, when we left, it was 31 and snowing heavily!

And, if you thought chivalry is dead, just click on the video below.

Honestly, when I looked up and saw my darling 7 year old on the ski lift, I about dropped dead—I could think of a lot more explicative’s to say— but, after seeing her do it a few times, I was pretty confident she could do it, even though that chair seemed barely balanced and awfully high up...but, what kind of a mother would allow the video below to happen...but, you can see there was no stopping him.  No stopping.

After two hours of riding the lift, and skiing down the big hill, he was wet and frozen.  But, when I said “Cade, what did you think of skiing?”  It got the thumbs up!  Hats off to Audrey who made it all possible for him—refer back to photo one—but, it was a good time had by ALL!
