Raccoons Week Two

I have had the raccoons two weeks now.  The first week was a little hectic with our visitors here.  Now we are settling into a routine, and they seem to be doing very well.  One thing that has helped out a lot is they are only eating three times a day.  The boy, Rocco, drinks almost a whole bottle twice a day.  Usually the third bottle he doesn’t eat hardly at all.  The two girls, Venus de Milo and Zulu are much smaller and eat about a third of a bottle three times a day.  VdM eats more sometimes than Zulu.  The other big event that happened this week was I moved them to the playhouse.  Raccoons have a smell like a ferret, and they are STINKY!  So, I was very happy to get them moved outdoors!!  I also gave them worming medicine since they carry a variety of worms that can be very dangerous to humans.  I am hoping to get the distemper shots in them this week so they can be moved out to the big cage—which will present one last problem—what to do with the ducks!
