Clearly, ANYONE who is friends with Audrey on Facebook knows...this museum was horrid, disgusting, and gross...but, at the same time, it was AWESOME! Okay, the kids don’t agree. They liked the NRA museum better (coming soon to a theatre near you). But, to me, this museum was real, it was raw and it was totally cool. The draw was the skull fragment and bullet that killed Abraham Lincoln. See, we were supposed to go to Ford’s Theatre when Maureen was here, so this seemed like a nice ‘bridge’ to that event. But all the other stuff, well that was just icing on the cake...and there was a lot of icing! |

From amputated legs (right), to a multitude of blown out skulls, this museum presented gore in a whole new way—and it was all real. They had a room devoted to the soldiers who fought and die everyday to protect this country, including part of a med unit in Iraq. All carried plaques with fascinating stories. |

Circulatory systems, a head preserved in arsenic, and the hair ball of a girl who compulsively ate her own hair were just a few of the fascinating things you could learn about her. I found the skeletons of babies interesting, but the kids like the fingerprint exhibit |

Every time I go anywhere my kids ask for a souvenir. Especially, if it involves a stuffed animal. Yet, for some reason, my kids didn’t want an ear ache, cholera, black plague or HIV stuffed animals. Hmmm. Another benefit to this great place! |
