Today Malena turns eight.  Tonight we are going to see Monsters Vs. Aliens and then to dinner with her friend Olivia.  Even though this is a ‘non’ birthday party year, yesterday since Caroline and Anna were coming over, we turned it into an impromptu party.  I threw together a cake (not bad for something I threw together last minute!) and we played some party games.  Who needs the White House to have an egg roll??  We don’t need no stinkin’ tickets to roll eggs down the driveway!  All of the kids had a great time...but her BIGGEST birthday surprise arrived at 6am—scroll to the bottom to see what that was!

This morning at 6 am “Cheeze-it” popped into our world, followed shortly after by “Triscuit” Both are drying off in our brooder as we speak.  The kids are all very excited, but Malena, who has loved ducks since she was born is over the moon on her birthday!
