In the end, we had five ducks successfully hatch. Seven died. Four died in the last 4 days. That was a big disappointment. One of the little ducklings has a deformed leg we believe is due to a ‘slipped tendon’. Sadly, it cannot be repaired, so she is just going to have to live out her days however long they last. She gets around fine on her ‘elbows’ and doesn’t seem that bothered by her problem. The first two are easily twice the size and ability of the ones born yesterday. |
