Text Box: Recently, we went to Williamsburg for a little fun at Great Wolf Lodge. Much to the children’s distaste, I worked in an educational trip to Presidents Park! Although the original trip met with a lot of groans, in the end, everyone had fun while learning a lot. The kids learned how to be ‘Minute Men’ for the war, and received training in arms. Then we toured the busts of every president from George Washington to George W. Bush. The day was rounded out with a scavenger hunt! It was fun for everyone. If you’d like to test your knowledge, click here to access the Presidents Park Scavenger Hunt questions!

Although designed for older kids, this Revolutionary took all hands when it came to musket training!  Malena and Cade never missed a beat!

Text Box: Each president was surrounded by General information and Interesting facts and quote—we read each one, and found them very interesting! For example, we knew a lot about Abraham Lincoln (aka Link Habbersham) but, we didn’t know he was the first president photographed, or his son died at the age of 12.
Text Box: Millard Fillmore was a president we had not known anything about. We found it interesting that he was an indentured servant and bought his freedom for the price of TWO Webkinz~! Also, we heard a lot about Perry going to Japan while we lived there, but now we know who authorized such a journey! Another thing we found interesting was that Presidents in those days made 25, 000 dollars a year. George W. Bush makes 400,000 a year today.
Text Box: They also had an Air Force 1 we could tour. We were surprised at how ‘plain’ the plane was. It did not have all the things you see in the movies making it look like a luxury aircraft. It was actually pretty average, just divided up differently.
