Text Box: The Incredible, not edible, EggText Box: Home
Text Box: My affiliation with the PWC 4-H group offered up chick eggs to be hatched. We (mostly, I for fear the kids will drop one or bang them) have been turning and watching them develop into little chicks. This is very cool. After just two days in the incubator (Cade calls it an egg-u-bator) you could see the formation of the blood lines through the shell. These are about 6 days in, and although it is hard to see in the photo, the black dot is the chicks eye, and if you look at the one on the left you can make out the body sort of upside down. It is fun because when you candle them, you can see them move inside the egg. We think we may have lost two eggs. That is called a ‘quitter’ when they start out but don’t fully develop!
Text Box: Be on the lookout for more photos and information as the eggs develop!
