Cade Turns 5!Text Box: Anyone who knows my family even a short amount of time, will soon learn that 5 is a magic number in our house. When you are five, two very important things happen. 1) You are mature enough to handle chewing gum, and 2) it is time for you to wipe your own behind. Today, my baby turned 5. I wish I could say I was one of those mothers who wept, or who was sad to see my youngest cross this family milestone, however, it is just not in me. In fact, as he sat on the toilet gagging as he performed his right of passage (with a wildly large wad of gum in his cheek) I was doing a little private Mommie dance on the other side of the wall! So, to celebrate his day, we went to Chuck’s (yes, I know, but I didn’t have friends party so I succumbed), and tonight went out for a family dinner at Uno’s...or, as he says “OOooonose” Then, we returned home for a homemade cake in the shape of a 5, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, blue sprinkles (the gum balls were my brainchild) and 5 large candles. Yes, I TRIED to get him to get the train cake from Target—but the boy was relentless! So, now, they are winding down. He enjoyed his presents and his day immensely. Below is a montage of the days events:

8:00am first piece of gum

While the girls went straight to the gum for presents, brother was a little more with it, buying him a NERF gun.

Yes, I know he is ONLY 5, but, when you get to no. 4 coming up with a big WOW present gets harder!  This did the trick!  Now he can hang with the sibs!

No matter what the age, the power of the  almighty dollar still holds a place in even the youngest heart!  Although he did like the cards too!

And then, as quickly as it came...it was done.
