Text Box: Today we went to the Bodies Exhibit in Washington D.C. What an amazing opportunity to see the human body! We were lucky to score some cheap tickets through a local home school group. The process these bodies went through to be preserved and displayed this way is amazing.
Admittedly, I was worried taking the kids *esp Malena to such an exhibition. It is odd how once you see the first body you dismiss all thoughts of these being actual living people *formerly* and start looking and studying the structures of the body. Each body system is in a separate room. My favorite room was the circulatory room. They had an entire body, void of any bodily parts, just the circulatory system in a body form. It was in a dark room, lit, glowing red.
In looking at these, it quickly became evident why when you hit your lip you bleed so much.
