Maymont Flower and Garden Show

Richmond, VA

February 2007

Always ready for a field trip, we set out to explore Maymont Flower and Garden show in Richmond this week.  It is nice to see, smell and feel so many beautiful landscapes with 50 mph wind gusts, and sub-freezing temps outside!  They got lots of ideas for some gardens they would like to create this summer.  It was a something for everyone kind of day.

There were crafts for Audrey, and flowers to learn about, and landscapes to plan and ponder.  While Spencer found seeds to sow, and pots to decorate, and even a cool display that used a fogger in a pond...we may have to look into getting one of those!

For Malena there was lots to explore in the children’s section.  Including hat making, and how to become a giant spruce tree.  But, perhaps, the happiest of all was Cade, who managed to find a koi pond display with an actual working Thomas the Tank Engine train running around it.  Who could have thought?  No, that will not be installed on our pond this year.

Like I said, fun was had by all.

Even me.
