Amon Carter Museum

After Beth left, we had a few hours to kill before dinner with Terry and Mandy so we headed to the Amon Carter museum.  It was just the right size for a quick visit, and it was FREE!  The collection was American art and was largely a combination of 19th and 20th century artists, and a room devoted entirely to photography.

We had been to an O'Keeffe exhibit in DC, but it was centered around her New Mexico work.  It was cool to see her flowers!

One of my favorite artists is Demuth.  I love his graphic simplicity, and my favorite painting was his “Figure 5 in Gold”  However, the gift shop had this one in poster form, and I could not resist it!  I think it will look quite nice in my kitchen!
