While in Connecticut my mom dug up an alpaca farm for us to visit! We love these gentle creatures. Because Audrey will be taking Chaucer in January, my mom was determined she would visit Canterbury...Connecticut that is. So we headed to Burgis Brook Alpaca Farm in Canterbury, CT. |

They had multiple pens of animals. We thought this black on was especially gorgeous. I had fun watching Audrey tell Gramps all about the animals! My dad seemed especially interested in them. Clearly, the sheep episode from 1984-87 has faded from his memory!! The nice thing about this farm was the animals were all close by and, as alpacas are, curious! |

This baby on the left is only three weeks old! He looks like a great big boy, but only weighs about 30 lbs! Already he has a great thick coat. In the pasture with the mothers and babies, the owner (left) let us come in and walk around. The kids snuck in some grain to attract them to us. I thought it was so cute when the two alpacas below crossed necks to eat out of Malena and Spencer’s hands! |

Up close to the house this lady (left) who I believe was the other owner, showed how they spin the fibers into yarn. They also had a man there (below) who was doing a felting demonstration. It was very cute the things he made. They also had a small shop where you could buy a few items. I always like to support little farms like this, so I got my friend a scarf the lady on the left made! |
